  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth, then mix in half of the granulated sugar and the vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, cream softened butter with remaining sugars until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined; fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop half of the dough onto prepared sheets, flatten slightly, add about a teaspoon of cream cheese mixture on top, then cover with more cookie dough.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden brown; cool on wire racks before serving.
