Description

Christmas morning cinnamon rolls are the perfect festive treat to elevate your holiday breakfast. Bursting with warm cinnamon flavor and topped with a creamy glaze, these fluffy rolls are easy to make and will fill your home with delightful aromas. Whether enjoyed fresh from the oven or savored later, they bring the family together in sweet celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for filling), softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm milk in a saucepan until just warm to the touch. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and yeast. Add warmed milk and melted butter; mix until combined.
  2. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  3. For the filling, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon into a thick paste. Punch down risen dough and roll into a rectangle (16×24 inches). Spread filling evenly over the dough.
  4. Roll tightly from one long side and slice into 12-15 pieces. Place cut-side up in a greased baking pan; allow to rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before frosting with a mixture of powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and enough milk to reach desired consistency.
