  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (plus more for brushing)
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients at room temperature.
  2. In a bowl, mix warm milk with sugar and yeast; let sit until bubbly.
  3. Combine flour and salt in a mixing bowl, then add the yeast mixture and melted butter; mix until sticky dough forms.
  4. Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, brush with melted butter, sprinkle sugar and cinnamon evenly.
  7. Tightly roll the dough into a log shape and cut into 12 thick slices; place them snugly in a greased round pan.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with vanilla extract and enough milk until smooth; drizzle over the warm cake before serving.
